LONDON (Alliance News) - The Monks Investment Trust PLC on Wednesday said its net asset value total return was minus 3.5% in the first half of its financial year, with the drop in performance still better than the minus 4.3% delivered by the FTSE World Index in sterling terms.
"Royal Caribbean Cruises, Amazon and Alphabet (the search engine formerly known as Google) were the notable positive contributors to absolute returns in the period," the trust said.
Monks focuses on generating capital growth, which takes priority over income and dividends.
The trust is managed by Baillie Gifford, a fund manager based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
