Monitise Appoints Ex Visa Payments Executive As Co-Chief Executive

4th Jun 2014 11:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Monitise PLC Wednesday unveiled a series of changes to its executive team and board of directors, appointing former Visa Inc payments executive Elizabeth Buse to share the position of Chief Executive with founder Alastair Lukies.

In a statement, the mobile payments business said that Buse, who was on its board between July 2010 and October 2012, will head its day-to-day operations, overseeing technology, product, sales and marketing while fellow co-CEO Lukies will focus on relationships with partners and industry stakeholders, corporate development and major shareholders.

Lee Cameron will continue in his role as Monitise's Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy Chief Executive.

Monitise is currently undergoing an effort to increase its registered users to 200 million, from 28 million by the end of its 2018 financial year, with the aim of growing user-generated revenue through mobile banking, payments and commerce.

In addition to Buse, Monitise said it has appointed two new executive directors, Clifford Chance LLP Global Chief Operating Officer Amanda Jane Burton and Brooks Brothers international, wholesale and manufacturing President Paulette Garafalo.

Monitise shares were Wednesday quoted at 66.88 pence, up 5.7%.
