Moneysupermarket Says Providing Information To Antitrust Regulator Probe

3rd Jun 2015 15:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC Wednesday said it is providing information to UK regulator Ofgem in relation to an investigation about companies breaching competition law.

The company said Ofgem has opened an investigation into whether two or more companies that provide a supporting service to the energy industry have breached competition law, which requires Moneysupermarket to supply the regulator with information "in connection with this investigation", it said.

Moneysupermarket is not one of the companies currently being investigated, but the company said Ofgem was gathering the information "to establish whether to include the company as a subject of its investigation", said Moneysupermarket in a statement.

Moneysupermarket shares closed up 0.7% to 306.10 pence per share on Wednesday.
