(Alliance News) - Paper and packaging firm Mondi PLC on Monday named Svein Brandtzaeg as an independent non-executive director, effective from April 22 in 2021.
Brandtzaeg was chief executive of aluminium and renewable energy company Norsk Hydro ASA and is currently chair of construction and civil engineering company Veidekke ASA, both Norwegian firms.
Mondi Chair Philip Yea said: "The Mondi group is delighted that Svein Richard will be joining our board. He has a strong commercial and strategic background as a former chief executive of Norsk Hydro, and more recently as a non-executive director on a number of boards. His experience of leading a global industrial group and the insight he can offer will be extremely valuable to the board."
Mondi shares were up 2.5% at ZAR338.21 each in Johannesburg on Monday, and up 5.4% at 1,681.50 pence each in London.
