Mondi Expects Operating Profit To Rise, To Book Lower Full-Year Charge

10th Feb 2015 07:16

LONDON (Alliance News) - Mondi PLC on Tuesday said it expects its underlying operating profit for 2014 to be higher than the year before and said it expects to book after-tax charges below what it booked last year.

The FTSE 100-listed paper and packaging company said it expects its underlying operating profit for the year to December 31 to be higher than the EUR699 million posted in 2013, though it did not provide guidance on how much higher it expects it to be.

Mondi said it expects its earnings per share for the year to be up around 20% to 24%, with headline earnings per share to be up between 7% and 11%.

The group also added it will book a EUR48 million net special item charge after tax for the year, below the EUR74 million it booked last year. This will comprise the EUR16 million it booked in the first half, plus a further EUR37 million in the second half related to restructuring and closure costs, offset by EUR5 million in gains.
