Mondi Appoints Two New Non-Executive Directors To Board

24th Feb 2021 16:03

(Alliance News) - The Addlestone-based paper and packaging firm Mondi PLC on Wednesday said it has hired Sue Clark and Angela Strank as non-executive directors with effect on April 22.

Clark is currently non-executive director at tobacco firm Imperial Brands PLC, as well as Britvic PLC and Tulchan Communications LP. Her most recent executive role was at Dutch brewing firm SABMiller, where she was managing director for SABMiller Europe from 2012 to 2016.

Strank meanwhile serves on the board of London-listed energy firm SSE PLC. Her most recent executive role was at UK oil major BP PLC for two years from 2018 to 2020 as head of Downstream Technology and chief scientist.

"We are delighted that Sue and Angela will be joining our board. They have strong strategic and commercial backgrounds, with experience of operating in large, international companies in both executive and non-executive roles. Their exposure to a broad range of industries and stakeholders will bring significant knowledge and insight to our board," said Chair Philip Yea.

Shares in Mondi were up 1.1% at 1,785.50 pence on Wednesday in London. In Johannesburg, shares closed 1.0% higher at ZAR366.82.
