(Alliance News) - Molten Ventures PLC on Thursday said it expects to report a rise in net asset value during its most recent financial year, though wider market volatility hurts the gross value of its portfolio.
The London-based venture capital firm said it anticipates posting a March 31 net asset value per share of around 671 pence, up 1.4% from 662p a year prior.
Gross portfolio value at the year-end on March 31 is estimated at about GBP1.37 billion, down 0.7% on-year from GBP1.38 billion.
Molten Ventures is due to release its full-year results on June 11.
"It is pleasing that the portfolio and NAV have continued to grow, demonstrating the robust performance within the portfolio. We've maintained a strong level of activity this year, with significant realisations that have provided capital to pursue attractive new and follow-on opportunities supporting European tech companies at critical growth stages," said Chief Executive Officer Ben Wilkinson.
"Recent macro events serve as a reminder of how quickly market dynamics can change. While these events have added short-term volatility, particularly in the public markets, our portfolio remains focused on capturing long-term opportunities driven by disrupting global industries...We remain focused on what we can control and continue to invest with discipline, finding opportunities in changing environments, backing businesses that are building for the long term and creating value for our shareholders."
Looking ahead, Molten Ventures intends to focus on capital allocation and balancing a pipeline of new investment opportunities with shareholder returns via share buyback programmes, whilst also maintaining its cash reserves.
Shares in Molten Ventures were up 4.9% at 277.20 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon. The stock has risen 19% over the past year.
