LONDON (Alliance News) - Modern Water PLC Tuesday said it has launched a bench top ultraviolet digester that provides a quick and easy way to treat aqueous samples with UV light.
In a statement, the water technology company said the product, the UV14000, eliminates organic compounds found in aqueous samples, enabling more accurate sample analysis. It can be used with the company's portable trace metals analyser, or on its own.
"We use UV in a lot of our own method verification and have received many enquiries from interested end users. After further market research, which found nothing suitable that met our needs, we decided to develop our own cost effective solution," Neil Townend, the managing director of Modern Water's Monitoring Division, said.
Modern Water said many of the rival products on the market may require the use of protective glasses or a fume cupboard, while its product doesn't require any special set-up or protective arrangements.
Modern Water shares were down 0.7% at 38.50 pence Tuesday morning.
