LONDON (Alliance News) - Mitie Group PLC said Tuesday that it had won a new contract worth GBP180 million with the UK Government's Home Office.
The eight-year contract has a potential three-year extension which would bring its total value up to GBP250 million.
Mitie's Care and Custody business will manage and maintain the Colbrook and Harmondsworth Immigration Removal Centres near Heathrow.
Mitie said that this will bring together two previously separate centres, and will offer, "considerable savings to the taxpayer by consolidating the operation of the two establishments."
Shares in Mitie were trading up 0.9% at 321.30 pence Tuesday afternoon.
