(Alliance News) - Anglo American PLC on Tuesday said Anne Wade, the chair of Man Group PLC, will join its board as a non-executive director on January 1.
The London-based miner, which is the world's largest platinum producer, said Wade will bring combined expertise in asset management and infrastructure.
Wade currently chairs Man Group, a London-based active investment manager focused on private markets. She also is a non-executive director of New York-based infrastructure materials company Summit Materials Inc.
Wade has spent the majority of her career in asset management, having worked previously on infrastructure investment at Capital Group Companies Inc. Her non-executive roles have included board positions at Holcim Ltd and John Laing Group PLC.
"Anne brings a wealth of buy-side insights from her career as a global asset manager, with a particular focus on infrastructure and raw materials", said Anglo American Chair Stuart Chambers.
"Her extensive experience as a non-executive director across a number of relevant industries will also add further depth to our discussions. We look forward to her contributions as we continue to progress towards a more highly rated platform from which Anglo American can deliver significant value accretive growth from its exceptional resource endowments in copper, premium iron ore and crop nutrients".
Anglo American's non-executive directorate will be eight members strong once Wade joins.
Anglo American shares were down 1.8% at 2,484.50 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
