LONDON (Alliance News) - Minds + Machines Group Ltd Tuesday said it has seen a "significant increase" in registrations for its top-level domain .vip, taking its total billings and orders for the domain since it launched last month to USD5.5 million.
The domain registry company said that, as of Monday, registrations under .vip had reached 404,892, up 49% from the previous Friday.
The .vip top-level domain was launched May 17.
"The exceptional take-up we are seeing of .vip is being achieved without using a freemium strategy or equivalent to boost numbers - the latest surge coming from standard name registrations bought through the registrar channel. This bodes well for renewal rates and the long-term reputation of the domain. We very much look forward to the ongoing growth of .vip billings," said Chief Executive Officer Toby Hall in a statement.
Shares in Minds + Machines were up 5.6% at 11.09 pence Tuesday morning, shortly after market open.
