LONDON (Alliance News) - Mincon Group Monday said it has chosen its chief technical officer, Joe Purcell, who has been with the rock drilling company for 27 years, to succeed Kevin Barry after his retirement as chief executive.
In a statement, Mincon Chairman Padraig McManus said that Purcell is the right person to lead the group, citing his strong ties with the company's senior managers and the wider industry.
"While the current market environment is challenging for our industry, there remain numerous opportunities to strengthen and grow our business and, along with the excellent team here at Mincon, I look forward to the continued development and growth of the group," Joe Purcell said in a statement.
Purcell will start in his new role from May 28.
Mincon shares were untraded on Monday morning. The stock last traded at 53.00 pence.
