LONDON (Alliance News) - Specialty pharmaceutical company Midatech Pharma PLC on Wednesday said it has reached an agreement with biopharmaceutical company Ophthotech Corp, which specialises in eye diseases.
Under the deal, the pair will explore using Midatech's Q Sphera microencapsulation technology on select Ophthotech products for treating wet age-related macular degeneration and other ocular indications.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"Drug delivery technology partnering is one of our three core strategies and this agreement with Ophthotech is a perfect fit for Midatech," said Midatech Chief Executive Jim Philips.
