Michelmersh Brick Looks To Meet Demand With 'Select Order Service'

3rd Sep 2014 08:01

LONDON (Alliance News) - Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC Wednesday said it has launched a bespoke "Select Order Process" for customers due to recent increase in demand for bricks.

A number of housebuilders in their own trading statements, including Redrow PLC, have reported a shortage or bricks, as well as construction workers, over the last 12 months as the property market started to pick up.

Haywards Heath-based Michelmersh said it hopes its new offering will give customers greater confidence in the delivery of their chosen products.

The company said products will be ordered by an approved distributor to be stored at the manufacturer's premises, pending delivery in accordance with a pre-agreed delivery date.

Michelmersh will also agree a fixed price with its clients, whereby no variation to that price will be made for the products ordered, provided the delivery schedule is maintained.

The stock was quoted up 0.7% at 70.48 pence Wednesday morning.
