(Alliance News) - Mereo BioPharma has appointed Richard Francis as the new head of pharmaceutical development, effective August 1, the biopharmaceutical company said on Tuesday.
Francis was most recently the owner and senior director of Francis Biopharma Ltd, a chemistry, manufacturing and controls consultant to over 30 biopharma companies, including Mereo.
Francis has also had senior roles with GlaxoSmithKline PLC and Celltech Group PLC before founding Francis Biopharma in 2010, Mereo said.
Chief Executive Denise Scots-Knight said: "Richard's extensive process development and chemistry, manufacturing, and controls experience will be instrumental to us as we continue to advance our late-stage product portfolio including Setrusumab for osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare bone disease with no approved therapies."
Shares in the company fell 3.3% to 44.00 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
