Merchants Trust Says Total Asset Value And NAV Per Share Has Declined

LONDON (Alliance News) - The Merchants Trust PLC said the total value of its assets declined between October 31 and November 19 as did its net asset value.

In an interim management statement for the period August 1 to October 31, the investment company said its assets were valued at GBP653.8 million at November 19, down from GBP659.0 million at the end of October, while its net asst value per share declined to 523.48 pence, from 526.62 pence.

Overall, its biggest holding remains in Royal Dutch Shell, followed by GlaxoSmithKline and BP.

The first quarterly dividend for the year ending January 31, 2014 of 5.9 pence per share was paid on August 14 to shareholders on the register on July 12, 2012.

The second quarterly dividend for the year ending January 31, 2014 of 5.9 pence per share was declared on September 18, 2013 and was paid on November 12 to shareholders on the register on October 11, 2013.

The stock closed at 499.00 pence Thursday, down 1.00 pence or 0.2%.
