(Alliance News) - Meggitt PLC on Thursday said it secured a three-year extension on its contract with the Northrop Grumman Corp for the supply of fuel bladders for a US fighter jet.
The UK aerospace and defence contractor said the extension was worth GBP20 million, with deliveries scheduled to begin this month for the F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft.
"Using innovative polyurethane technology, Meggitt's fuel bladders offer a long-life, lightweight solution that is highly flexible, durable and maintenance-free. Their unique self-sealing properties have proved fundamental in safeguarding both crew and aircraft from the impact of ground fire, ensuring a safe return to base," explained the Coventry, England-based defence contractor.
Shares in Meggitt were down 1.1% at 275.30 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
