Medusa Mining Restarts Operations At Co-O Mine As Storm Passes

28th Jan 2014 08:14

LONDON (Alliance News) - Medusa Mining Ltd Tuesday said it has re-started mining at the Co-O mine in the Philippines after heavy rain that caused landslides in several areas around the mine eased.

In a statement, the company said the bad weather also caused extensive damage to several sections of the haul road between the mine and the mill, and work has started to repair the damage.

"The company is currently evaluating several alternate routes to overcome the temporary haulage issue whilst the old route is being repaired," it said.

"In addition to general clearing activities at both the Co-O Mine and Mill as a result of the aftermath of the low pressure system, the company has assessed and conducted structural inspections on all its property," it added.

It said the new SAG mill at the mill is currently operating at 2,000 tonnes a day.

Medusa shares were up 1.2% at 114.37 pence early Tuesday.
