Medica Hires Synlab Executive Quin As New Chief Executive Officer

9th May 2019 13:33

LONDON (Alliance News) - Teleradiology firm Medica Group PLC said Thursday it has hired Stuart Quin as its new chief executive officer from the start of September, to replace current boss John Graham.

Quin will join Medica from Synlab where he is currently the head of Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa. Previously, he served as the chief commercial officer and chief executive of the UK operations of Synlab.

"I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead Medica through the next phase of its development," Quin said. "The company has a strong reputation of delivering teleradiology services to NHS trusts across the UK. I am looking forward to working with the team at Medica, to identify and execute new growth opportunities and continuing to offer the highest quality service for customers."

Graham will remain CEO until Quin takes up his post on September 1 in order to ensure a smooth transition.

Medica Chair Roy Davis said he was "delighted" Quin was joining the firm.

"We undertook a rigorous recruitment process, and the board believe that Stuart is ideally suited to lead Medica as we look to continue the high growth of our business both in the UK and overseas," Davis added. "Stuart brings extensive experience of providing a breadth of diagnostic services to the UK's National Health Service and to independent sector customers, as well as a background in strategic leadership of an international healthcare business."

Shares in Medica were 1.0% higher at 151.50 pence on Thursday in London.
