LONDON (Alliance News) - MedaPhor Group PLC Wednesday said it has been informed that a federal complaint for patent infringement has been filed against it in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
The complaint relates to the company's ultrasound training systems, including its ScanTutor product. It has been filed by competitor Sonosim Inc, which also has asked MedaPhor to withdraw several patent applications it has made.
MedaPhor said that, following an initial review, it believes the complaint is "without merit" and plans to "vigorously defend its position".
It added that it does not intend to withdraw its patent applications.
Shares in MedaPhor were untraded Wednesday morning. They last closed at 49.00 pence.
