(Alliance News) - M&C Saatchi PLC on Tuesday said it has agreed to acquire Dune 23, a specialist sports and entertainment marketing agency based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as it looks to expand in the Middle East.
The London-based advertising agency said the deal strengthens its fastest-growing region and enhances the capabilities of its Sport & Entertainment division. Dune 23 will be integrated into M&C Saatchi's Passions & PR specialism, focused on building brand connections through culture and sport.
Dune 23 employs over 40 people and has a "high-quality client roster" including Emirates Dubai 7s, Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, Chicago Bulls, and SailGP.
M&C Saatchi Chief Executive Officer Zaid Al-Qassab called the acquisition a "perfect fit" for the company's growth ambitions in the UAE. "By integrating Dune 23's capabilities and client relationships into our regional-first model, we are scaling our ability to lead in one of the world's most dynamic markets for sport and entertainment," he said.
The acquisition will be funded from existing cash and is expected to complete in the coming weeks, M&C Saatchi said. It didn't disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.
M&C Saatchi shares were down 0.3% at 168.00 pence in London on Tuesday morning.
