(Alliance News) - MC Mining Ltd on Monday said acting Chief Executive Officer Brenda Berlin is to step down in February with a permanent successor now being sought.
Berlin joined the Australian coal miner in April 2018, serving at executive director and chief financial officer before being appointed acting CEO in February 2020.
She departs both as acting CEO and executive director effective February 15, with the company expecting "to appoint a permanent CEO within sufficient time to allow for an orderly handover."
The company said: "Brenda worked closely with both MC Mining's chairman of the board and chairman of its audit committee on the Makhado project development financing and her departure in February is not expected to impact on finalising the phase 1 funding package."
Shares in MC Mining ended 1.0% lower in Johannesburg on Monday at ZAR1.98, while its London shares were down 7.5% at 7.40 pence.
