Mayan Energy Chief Executive Resigns, Charmian To Take On Role

LONDON (Alliance News) - Mayan Energy Ltd said Friday Chief Executive Officer Eddie Gonzalez has resigned from his role with immediate effect.

Mayan Energy shares were trading 5.6% lower at 0.32 pence each early Friday.

The oil & gas company's Chairman Charlie Wood will take on the role of interim chief executive officer, prior to his appointment being made permanent at the firm's annual general meeting on Thursday next week.

Furthermore, the firm has appointed Paolo Amoruso as non-executive chairman with immediate effect. He is a lawyer with experience in the upstream US oil & gas sector having worked for Shell Oil Co, Devon Energy Corp, and Hyperdynamics Corp.

He is also currently a director of McGowen & Fowler PLLC, Amoruso Consulting LLC and AmCapital LLC.
