(Alliance News) - Marston's PLC on Wednesday named Chief Financial Officer Andrew Andrea as its new chief executive.
Andrea will replace Ralph Findlay as chief executive on October 3, after Findlay announced in March his decision to step down after 20 years in the job.
Andrea is 51 years old and Findlay is 60 years old, according to Companies House files.
The incoming chief has 23 years of experience in the pub and brewing industry, and has extensive commercial and operational expertise as well as financial, Marston's said.
Andrea joined the pub operator in 2002 and has served on the board since 2009. He pioneered Marston's franchise model and project managed the disposal of the brewing business in 2020, the company said.
"Andrew was the strongest contender from a selection of extremely high calibre candidates under consideration and the unanimous choice of the board for the role of chief executive officer," Chair William Rucker said.
Shares in Marston's were down 0.6% to 96.33 pence in London.
