Marshalls First Half Revenue Rises 11% And Second Half Looks Good

6th Jul 2015 06:40

LONDON (Alliance News) - Marshalls PLC on Monday said its first half revenue increased by 11% and said the robust trading momentum has continued into the second half of 2015.

The company, which makes paving and landscaping products, said revenue in the first six months was 11% higher, up to GBP199 million to GBP180 million a year earlier. Marshalls said the strong performance in the half has carried into the second and will underpin its expectations for the year.

Sales to public sector and commercial end markets were up 15% year-on-year, and Marshalls said it is continuing to target parts of the market where higher levels of growth are anticipated, including rail, new-build housing, water management and street furniture.

Sales to domestic markets were up 4% year-on-year, while international revenue for the company was up 7%.

"We are continuing to invest in the further development of the Marshalls' brand across all of the Group's businesses, as well as in product innovation and service delivery initiatives to deliver continued sales growth, improved trading margins and increased return on capital employed," said Martyn Coffey, Marshalls' chief executive.
