LONDON (Alliance News) - Car dealer Marshall Motor Holdings PLC said on Tuesday it has appointed Richard Parry-Jones as non-executive chairman with effect at the start of 2019.

He will be replacing Peter Johnson, who will retire at the end of the 2018.

Parry-Jones most recent executive role was at Ford Motor Co, as chief technical officer for ten years from 1997 to 2007.

Non-executive roles includes being non-executive director of GKN PLC for ten years since 2008, chairman of Yorkshire Water Services Ltd from 2015 to 2016 and chairman of Network Rail Ltd from 2012 to 2015.

"I am delighted that Richard will be joining the company as its new chairman. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of the automotive industry and his insight and guidance will be invaluable to the development of the company over the coming years. I would again like to thank Peter Johnson for his leadership of the company over the past four years," said Senior Independent Director Alan Ferguson.

Shares in Marshall Motor Holdings were untraded on Tuesday, last quoted at 154.0 pence.
