LONDON (Alliance News) - Mariana Resources Ltd on Thursday said the first two holes at the Hot Maden prospect in Turkey have been drilled and said it has received positive preliminary metallurgical test results from the site.
Mariana said its joint venture partner, Lidya Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS, has completed drilling on the first two holes, with assay results from both to be reported to market soon.
In addition, preliminary metallurgical testwork on the site found positive gold recoveries from a basic heap leach, though Mariana said a flotation process appears to be preferential for recovering gold and copper from the drill holes.
"With the drilling of holes eight and nine complete and now two drill rigs running we will continue to gain a better understanding of the potential of Hot Maden as the drilling progresses. The encouraging preliminary metallurgical test work is certainly positive and we are hopeful that more detailed tests, of more representative samples, will give us greater confidence, said Mariana Chief Executive Glen Parsons.
Shares in Mariana were flat at 2.75 pence on Thursday.
