LONDON (Alliance News) - Mariana Resources Ltd Tuesday said it has received further high-grade copper and gold intercepts from the ongoing drill programme at the Hot Maden project in Turkey.
The miner reported intercepts from hole 10 of 100.2 metres at 5.6 grammes of gold per tonne and 1.3% copper from 81.8 metres, including 43 metres at 11.7 grammes per tonne and 2.2% copper from 98.7 metres. Additional intercepts of 47 metres at 0.7% zinc and 40 metres at 0.56% zinc were discovered to the east of the gold and copper zones, it said.
Hole 11 produced 107.7 metres at 4.2 grammes of gold per tonne and 0.9% copper from 255.3 metres, including 14.2 metres at 27.0 grammes per tonne and 0.94% copper. More intercepts included 11 metres at 1.99% zinc and 18.5 metres at 1.17% zinc, also to the east of the copper and gold zones.
Drilling to date on hole 11 indicates there is a corridor where higher-graded gold could be correlated from the north to the south, Mariana said.
Other holes produced intercepts of 33.4 metres at 18.3 grammes per tonne and 3.3% copper, 13 metres at 88 grammes per tonne at 2.5% copper, 43 metres at 11.7 grammes per tonne and 2.2% copper and 14.2 metres at 27 grammes per tonne and 0.9% copper.
"I am delighted with this set of results which have given us greater confidence in the copper-gold mineralised body with respect to continuity and extension. Drilling of this sub-vertical mineralised body is advancing nicely," said Chief Executive Glen Parsons.
The second phase drilling programme continues on the Hot Maden project, with two further holes about to be drilled.
