Marechale investee eyes potential vast UK lithium extraction facility

29th Jan 2025 12:04

(Alliance News) - Marechale Capital PLC on Wednesday noted a committee report issued by Durham County Council on Tuesday.

The London-based adviser and financing provider for consumer brands, leisure, clean energy, mineral extraction and technology companies said the report recommends Weardale Lithium Ltd's planning application for the development of its lithium extraction be approved.

Weardale, an investee company of Marechale, advised the latter that the planning committee hearing is scheduled for next week Wednesday.

"If planning is approved, the project could become the UK's largest lithium extraction facility," Marechale said.

Marechale shares surged 74% to 3.04 pence each on Wednesday around midday in London.
