(Alliance News) - Management Resource Solutions PLC on Friday said Non-Executive Chair John Zorbas has resigned with immediate effect, in line with board succession plans announced in May.
The maintenance, fabrication, civil and earthworks company said additional directors will be appointed in the "near future".
"John has chaired Management Resource Solutions since April 2017 when he was instrumental in securing the new finance needed to commence the company's turnaround," said Chief Executive Paul Brenton.
He added: "The board and senior management are grateful for his considerable contribution and wish him every success in his future endeavours.
On Friday last week, Management Resource Solutions said resolutions to remove three directors and appoint two more were narrowly rejected at a general meeting. The resolutions put forward on July 5 were for the removal of Zorbas, Finance Director Timothy Jones, and Non-Executive Director Robert Hackett.
On Thursday, Management Resource Solutions said Hackett has resigned with immediate effect.
Resolutions also requested the appointment of John Copley and Robert Wall to the board as new directors.
Hackett's removal had 47% of votes in favour. Some 48% of votes cast were in favour of removing Zorbas and Jones. The resolutions to appoint Copley and Wall had both 48% of votes cast in favour.
Management Resource Solutions shares were trading flat on Friday at 2.60 pence each in London.
