LONDON (Alliance News) - Malvern International PLC said on Wednesday it has agreed a partnership with the University of East London to deliver English courses for international students.
Shares in Malvern rose 7.7% to 3.50 pence each on Wednesday afternoon.
The partnership will see Malvern "established as an embedded college" with the university delivering pre-sessional foundation and English courses for international students, initially at undergraduate level but with a pre-masters programme due in 2019.
Students taking the course will be fully enrolled as UEL students. Additionally, Malvern and UEL will provide "flexible-duration" English as second language courses for pre-undergraduate and pre-master's students.
CEO Sam Malafeh said: "This partnership with University of East London is a good example of the collaborations being targeted by the group in pursuit of its growth strategy, giving both parties complementary benefits.
"These pathway courses will enable international students to reach their goal of enrolling on a University degree. It will achieve this by delivering high quality English language support and a carefully crafted International Foundation Programme."
He added: "This tailored support is expected to benefit over 4,000 students in the next 10 years. It will also enable Malvern to establish a strong long term partnership with UEL in London, contributing to Malvern's strategic objective of being regarded as a centre of excellence."
