KUALA LUMPUR (Alliance News) - The Malaysian ringgit strengthened against the US dollar in the pre-European session on Thursday, following the appointment of Datuk Muhammad Ibrahim as the next governor of Bank Negara.
Against the greenback, the ringgit rose to a 1-week high of 3.8910 from an early low of 3.8920. At yesterday's close, the ringgit was trading at 9.8975 against the greenback.
If the ringgit extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around the 3.84 area.
