Majestic Wine Removes Six-Bottle Minimum Purchase Rule

26th Oct 2015 12:35

LONDON (Alliance News) - Majestic Wine PLC on Monday said it has launched a new pricing strategy throughout its store network and online and has remove the six-bottle minimum purchase rule it previously had in place.

Majestic said it had removed the six-bottle rule following a successful trial in certain stores.

"Our customers were telling us that they wanted simpler, clearer pricing, and an end to the six bottle minimum. This new structure is part of our wider plan to reposition Majestic Wine to become the go-to destination for the best quality wines at the best prices," said Rowan Gormley, Majestic's chief executive.

"There are now no barriers to shopping at Majestic, the pricing structure is very straightforward and I'm sure our customers will see this as a great move," Gormley added.

Shares in Majestic were down 2.1% to 347.47 pence on Monday.
