(Alliance News) - The KCOM Group Ltd bid war continued on Thursday as Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6 SCSp upped its KCOM offer again to beat Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd.
MEIF 6 Fibre Ltd, which had previously priced its bid at 109.5p pence per share, is now offering 110.8p per share in KCOM, pulling ahead of the 110p per share offer made by the UK university and higher education pension scheme on Wednesday.
The Macquarie offer is now worth GBP578 million versus the GBP573 million offered by Universities Superannuation Scheme.
Humber, a subsidiary of Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd, originally offered 97p per KCOM share in April. This was then topped in early June by Macquarie Infrastructure, who offered 108p. Humber retaliated by upping its offer to 108.5p in July.
