M&C Saatchi Trading In Line For 2016 After Good Contract Wins

LONDON (Alliance News) - Advertising agency M&C Saatchi PLC on Wednesday said it has started 2016 well and is trading in line with expectations, having recorded "some good" contract wins.

Ahead of the company's annual general meeting on Wednesday, Chairman Jeremy Sinclair said the company continues "to be confident of a successful 2016", and is currently trading in line with expectations.

"We have recorded some good wins including [bank] the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC, [postal service] Royal Mail PLC and [non-profit organisation] Counter Extremism in the UK," Sinclair said, also noting its contract wins with telephone service company Com Hem Holding AB in Stockholm, oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell PLC in Singapore and "largest of them all", with supermarket Woolworths Ltd in Sydney.

"We have also invested in New York, acquiring 51% of digital customer experience agency Principal MCD Inc and increasing our holding in [advertising agency] SS+K to 51% from 33% ," the chairman added.

Shares in M&C Saatchi were down 0.9% at 336.44 pence on Wednesday.
