LONDON (Alliance News) - LXB Retail Properties PLC Thursday said it had learnt that the UK government was supporting planning permission for its planned Rushden Lakes shopping centre and leisure facilities development in Northamptonshire, and it expects permission to become final in six weeks time.
Planning permission for a 465,000 square foot retail and leisure development at the site had been granted by the local authority in October 2012, but was called in by the Secretary of State for the Department for Communities and Local Government, who can have final say on any planning application.
"The contents of the Minister's 252 page report are still being reviewed by the group's advisers but, assuming no further challenges under judicial review procedures, the planning permission will become final in six weeks' time," LXB Retail said in a statement.
LXB Retail shares were up 2.1% at 122 pence Thursday.
