(Alliance News) - London Stock Exchange Group PLC on Monday announced it will appoint William Vereker, chair of Banco Santander SA's UK arm, to its board.
"William brings a strong track record in the global financial services sector. His international experience in developing senior relationships, managing risk and organisational change will benefit the group as we look to further capitalise on the trends shaping our industry," LSEG said.
Previously, Vereker worked as the business envoy of former UK prime minister Theresa May until her resignation as PM in July 2019.
London Stock Exchange Group shares rose 1.8% to 7,602.00 pence each in London on Monday morning, while Santander traded 0.2% higher at 224.55p each.
