(Alliance News) - Liontrust Asset Management PLC on Wednesday said it expects further growth following "substantial" progress made in the first half of its current financial year.
The company reported assets under management of GBP14.6 billion as at September 30, up 15% from GBP12.7 billion as at March 31.
Net inflows totalled GBP642 million in the three months to the end of September and GBP1.37 billion for the six months.
"These positive flows demonstrate the attraction of rigorous investment processes, strong long-term fund performance, a high-profile brand and the effectiveness of our sales and marketing," said Chief Executive John Ions. "The net inflows have been achieved at a time of uncertainty for retail investors in the UK."
Liontrust explained that it has continued to grow because of the quality of its investment teams and diversified proposition, with flows into equity, fixed income, sustainable and multi-asset portfolios that meet "more demanding" client requirements.
"Our investment capability is being broadened further with the addition of the Neptune investment team, now known as the Liontrust Global Equity team. We have been impressed by the quality of the team, and they bring an excellent range of funds with strong long-term performance," said Ions.
The Neptune Investment Management Ltd acquisition was completed on October 1, Liontrust said, adding GBP2.7 billion to assets under management, taking them to GBP17.4 billion.
"Our business has moved forward strongly over the last few years and is well positioned to continue this growth with an excellent investment proposition and our continued focus on client service," Ions concluded.
Liontrust shares were trading flat on Wednesday morning in London at 748.00 pence each.
