Lifeline Scientific Says Positive Study Results Published In Journal

12th Feb 2015 09:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Lifeline Scientific Inc said Thursday that positive results from a clinical study using its LifePort Live Transporter has been published in the American Journal of Transplantation.

The study results show that the system of hypothermic machine preservation has meaningful clinical utility, and the potential to increase the number of donors suitable for donation. It also showed a significant reduction in hospital stay for patients, and recovery of livers from older and sicker donors.

The results also support data from a first study undertaken by the Columbia University Medical Center.

"This second study appears to further demonstrate fundamental clinical safety and efficacy of hypothermic machine preservation in liver transplantation," said Chief Executive Officer David Kravitz in a statement.

Shares in Lifeline Scientific are untraded Thursday. It last closed at 134.00 pence.
