LONDON (Alliance News) - Leni Gas & Oil PLC Thursday said its group oil production on Wednesday hit a one-day record and said two wells at the Goudron field in Trinidad have been completed, with one ongoing and one due to spud in the next week.
The oil and gas company said it recorded its highest ever daily oil production on Wednesday with a total of 1,080 barrels of oil. That comprised 927 barrels from its Trinidad operations and 153 from its Spain business.
Elsewhere, the company said the GY-666 and GY-668 wells at its Goudron field have been completed in the primary Gros Morne reservoir. Both are currently flowing under natural pressure to surface and are presently in the process of cleaning up, Leni Gas said.
It said well GY-667, the final of the four wells drilled from Pad 2 at the site, is set to complete the Lower Cruse reservoir for test production. Leni Gas said it expects to perforate the well in the next few days.
It said it intends to spud the GY-669 well, the sixth of the approved 30-well development programme at Goudron, in the next week. It will be the first of four wells to be drilled from Pad 3.
"Production continues to come on-stream from our new wells at the Goudron Field in Trinidad and we expect to exceed our end of 2014 milestone target of 1,000 bopd for that field shortly," said Leni Gas Chief Executive Neil Ritson.
"Performance from the first two wells drilled and completed there have far exceeded our original expectations," Ritson added.
Leni Gas shares were up 2.1% to 5.285 pence on Thursday after the announcement.
