LONDON (Alliance News) - Leni Gas & Oil PLC Monday said the fifth of its planned Goudron development well GY-688 has been successfully spudded and is now drilling ahead in the Goudron Sandstones.
The company said the Trinidad-based well is being drilled as a deviated hole with a maximum angle of 15 degrees from the same well pad as used for the recently drilled well GY-665, GY-666 and GY-667. It is the last planned well from the drill site, it said.
Well GY-668 has a planned total depth of 3,000 feet, equivalent to 2,880 feet true-vertical depth, to a bottom-hole location that is approximately 680 feet west of the surface location. The primary target of this well is the Gros Morne sandstones.
Leni Gas & Oil said the same well design will be deployed in GY-668, with the Goudron Sandstones and uppermost Gros Morne shale being drilled in 12 1/4-inch hole and cased with 9 3/8-inch casing.
The Gros Morne Sandstone will be drilled to total depth in 8 1/2-inch hole and cased with 7-inch casing.
Leni Gas & Oil shares were quoted up 4.6% at 3.60 pence Monday.
