LONDON (Alliance News) - Lancashire Holdings Ltd said Friday it appointed Sally Williams as a non-executive director of the speciality insurance firm from early 2019.
Williams is currently serving as a director of insurance broker Marsh Ltd. She will resign from this post before the end of December 2018, prior to her appointment at Lancashire. Her actual appointment to Lancashire remains unspecified.
Previously, Williams - having started at PricewaterhouseCoopers - worked for the National Australia Bank as a member of its London branch executive committee and as a director of NAB Europe Ltd. She also was risk and compliance director at FTSE 100-listed insurer Aviva PLC.
Lancashire Chairman Peter Clarke said he was "delighted" Williams was joining the FTSE 250-listed firm.
"Sally has significant regulatory, risk and accounting experience with a particular knowledge of the insurance and insurance distribution markets," Clarke added. "This experience further broadens and strengthens the range of expertise on the Lancashire board. The board expects to appoint Sally as a further member of our Audit Committee when she joins us at the beginning of 2019."
Shares in Lancashire were 1.6% lower at 560.50 pence on Friday.
