LONDON (Alliance News) - Lancashire Holdings Ltd said Friday its long-serving chief financial officer, Elaine Whelan, will retire from the FTSE 250-listed reinsurance firm in early 2020.
Whelan - CFO since 2011, having joined the firm in 2006 - will continue as numbers chief until at least the end of the process to produce the full year results for 2019. She therefore expects to retire at the end of February 2020.
Lancashire will launch the process to find her replacement and will update once the appointment is concluded.
"I have enjoyed the many challenges and savoured the successes we have achieved at Lancashire in my time with the business," Whelan said. "It has been a tremendous experience and I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing people. While I will miss that a great deal, personally the time has come for a change and my retirement from Lancashire gives me that."
Lancashire Chair Peter Clarke explained that Whelan's "drive, dedication and insight have helped contribute to the growth and development of our business and she has made an exceptional contribution to Lancashire's success over many years."
Shares in Lancashire were 1.5% higher at 686.50 pence on Friday.
