LONDON (Alliance News) - Lamprell PLC, which provides fabrication, engineering and contracting services to the oil & gas and renewable energy industries, on Monday said it has promoted Niall O'Connell to the role of chief operating officer.
O'Connell, who joined the company in April 2013 as vice president for projects, has been been in the role of vice president and general manager for new-build jackup rigs since October 2014.
The new COO will report to Chief Executive James Moffat, with responsibility for supervising overall operational performance.
According to Lamprell, that includes "organisational efficiencies, competitive positioning, implementation of process and productivity improvements, project delivery and resource management".
"Niall has been instrumental in the group's robust performance in our new build jackup rigs business, demonstrating his strong management skills and clear focus on delivery. In the COO role, he will continue to be a key contributor to the group's ongoing performance and I am confident that we will benefit from his solid sector expertise and regional experience in the implementation of our long term strategy," Moffat said in a statement.
Shares in Lamprell were up 0.4% at 137.50 pence on Monday morning.
