Kore Potash Reports Progress On Sintoukola Project Development

30th Jan 2020 07:54

(Alliance News) - Kore Potash PLC on Thursday said progress continues on its project located in the Republic of Congo, with consultants appointed.

The potash exploration and development company said the pre-feasibility study for the potential Dougou extension of its flagship Sintoukola potash project is on track to be completed by the end of April.

In the meantime, Kore Potash said diamond drilling from the base of the reverse circulation holes through the salt layers has commenced as planned in January.

The company said subject matter expert consultants have been engaged for plant engineering, solution mining and drilling, natural gas virtual pipeline, and marine studies.

This follows completion of dissolution test work, 2D seismic survey and purchase of two drill rigs.

Looking ahead, Kore Potash said it continues to talk with the Republic of Congo government on the implementation of specific commitments contained within the mining convention. This includes the government's approval for the intra-group transfer of the Dougou mining license from Sintoukola Potash SA to the operating entity Dougou Potash Mining SA.

"The more work that is undertaken at Dougou extension, the greater our confidence in the asset grows," said Chief Executive Brad Sampson.

"We believe that Dougou extension is one of the highest grade potash deposits anywhere in the world, and has the potential to be one of the most environmentally sustainable fertiliser producers too," added Sampson.
