LONDON (Alliance News) - Koovs PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed Mary Turner as chief executive officer with effect from October 1.
Turner has been a non-executive director at the Indian online fashion retailer since July 2014, and was previously CEO at AlertMe.com, a pioneer in the so-called 'internet of things' technology. Prior to that, she was CEO at BTLineOne and at Tiscali UK, with over 20 years' experience in the consumer internet sector, Koovs said. She also was a non-executive director at ASOS PLC from 2009 to 2013.
Koovs also said that Robert Bready will take up the newly created role of chief creative officer. Bready has spent the last two years as brand director at Koovs and was previously product director at ASOS.
Koovs added that trading in the first three months of its financial year has "continued to be very encouraging". Sales have shown strong growth with gross order value 203% higher than the same period last year, the company said.
"I am delighted to welcome Mary to the executive team. Having worked closely with her at ASOS, I have first-hand knowledge of her experience and relentless energy which will help to drive Koovs through the significant period of growth ahead. I am also delighted that Robert has taken on the broader role of chief creative officer where a key focus will be on driving the growth of our own brand," Chairman Waheed Alli said in a statement.
Alli founded ASOS and was chairman until 2012.
"Trading in the first months of the new financial year has continued to demonstrate the success of our offer and the huge potential for the business going forward," Alli added.
Shares in Koovs were untraded on Tuesday at 68.11 pence.
