Kodal Minerals Makes Progress Towards Securing Mining Licence In Mali

(Alliance News) - Kodal Minerals PLC on Friday reported the completion and lodging of the environmental & social impact assessment for the proposed open pit mining and processing operation at Bougouni lithium project, Mali.

The mineral exploration and development company said the submission represents the first "critical" step in the process of obtaining a mining licence.

"The submission of the environmental & social impact assessment signals the achievement of another significant milestone for Kodal as we continue to focus on the development of the Bougouni lithium project," said Chief Executive Bernard Aylward.

"The ongoing support we have received from the Mali government and local community has been very encouraging and demonstrates the significant interest in our project's development," added Aylward.

Kodal said in will continue to focus on completion of a feasibility study that will be key for its application to obtain a mining licence at Bougouni.

The stock was trading 14% higher in London on Friday at 0.074 pence a share in London.
