Kingswood Holdings Poaches Charles Stanley Operating Chief Griffin

2nd Mar 2020 14:12

(Alliance News) - Kingswood Holdings Ltd on Monday announced the strengthening of its senior management with three new non-board hires, including the appointment of Harriet Griffin as chief operating officer.

Griffin will be joining from asset manager Charles Stanley Group PLC, which she was a part of for eight years since 2012, and will be leaving as chief operating officer.

In addition, Richard Bernstein will be joining the London-based Kingswood as chief risk officer.

His most recent role was as head of Risk & Central Compliance at Close Brothers Asset Management, part of merchant banking group Close Brothers Group PLC for seven years from 2013 to 2020.

Finally, the wealth management group has appointed Kirsten Owbridge to the new role of managing director for group human resources.

She will be joining from St James's Place Wealth Management, which is part of FTSE 100 wealth management group St. James's Place PLC, where she was senior HR business partner.

"2019 was a milestone year for Kingswood as the growth capital from Pollen Street allowed the firm to capitalise on the consolidation opportunities available in the global wealth management market. We are building a very strong and experienced management team in the UK and US to take advantage of the opportunities in both markets. We have already seen a strong start to the year, and with several imminent acquisitions in the UK, expect the business to grow substantially," said Chief Executive Officer Gary Wilder.

Shares in Kingswood Holdings were untraded at 26.50 pence on Monday in London.
