LONDON (Alliance News) - Kier Group PLC Tuesday said it has been awarded two profitable contracts to provide building and utility maintenance services.
Kier has been appointed sole provider of Bristol Water's GBP20-million-a-year network maintenance services programme. Work will consists of repairs and maintenance, metering, new connections, developer mains, trunk mains support and small diameter mains rehabilitation.
The contract, which will starts in October, is for five years with a potential five-year extension.
In the construction sector, Kier has been awarded a place on all six lots of the UK Education Funding Agency (EFA) regional framework for school building and upgrades, estimated to be worth up to GBP5 billion over four years.
Each of the regional lots, including London and the south east, is worth between GBP500 million and GBP1.5 billion. Kier said individual contracts awarded through the framework are expected to be valued between GBP200,000 and GBP12 million.
The EFA framework will mainly comprise repairs, refurbishment and remodelling works, as well as some smaller new-build projects.
The framework became operational early last month.
Kier Group shares were quoted up 1.2% at 1,740.16 pence Tuesday morning.
