LONDON (Alliance News) - Kibo Mining PLC on Thursday said its Mbeya coal-to-power project has continued to attract strong support from the Tanzanian government.
Kibo Chief Executive Louis Coetzee and Tanzania Minister of Energy and Minerals Sospeter Muhongo met last week, the company said, and the outcome was further support for the project.
Coetzee said Muhongo "reiterated Tanzania's urgent requirement for a reliable supply of base load power" during the meeting and requested Kibo "do everything possible to fast track the project".
Kibo shares were down 1.2% to 4.20 pence.
